Master assessment and treatment for the upper body through treatment strategies and clinical reasoning skills.
Organized by Integrated Natural Health
This 12-hour course focuses on mastering assessment and treatment for the upper body. Explore dynamic movement and postural assessments, compare fascia and acupuncture meridians, discuss treatment strategies and clinical reasoning skills. Synthesize knowledge of muscle actions, agonist/antagonist relationships, complex movements, fascial connections and tensile restrictions contributing to pain patterns and loss of function. Recording data collected on a body map provides a comprehensive, holistic global view of the client’s patterns, and invaluable treatment planning tools. Skillfully layer myofascial, cross fiber, active engagement and lengthening techniques to facilitate positive changes for the client and minimize stress on the therapist's body.
The first day we will complete a series of assessments, evaluate patterns, identify over active and inhibited muscle and the resultant posture. Recording data collected on a body map and assessment sheet provides a comprehensive representation of client’s patterns contributing to upper body pain and dysfunction. These skills acquired will advance your clinical judgment and assessment skills to create a treatment strategy from a full-body, global perspective. The second day we will present and practice treatment techniques and / or design yoga sequences.
This course meets 3 consecutive Thursdays – May 7, 14, 21, 2020
