Advanced Corrective Therapies 16 CE

NCBTMB Provider # 451117-09

Date: TBA

This experience-based and science-informed deep tissue course transforms your practice, adding a level of mastery to your existing and favorite techniques. In an atmosphere of comfortable collaboration, this course includes lecture, round table discussion and technique. The format is unique with small intimate classes, colleague collaboration, and challenging research informed science.

In a quickly evolving profession with fascia research pioneers informing our choices, the path of mastery unfolds and the need for skilled integrative therapists expands. With a heavy focus on proficient palpation, slow down, explore and isolated the deep soft tissues of the body. Proficiency in palpation skills identify the depth of targeted restriction and appropriate layer.

Save your body from the compressive forces of heavy pressure on the joints. With confidence and competency navigate through superficial tissue to isolate the sternocleidomastoid, subscapularis, origins of levator scapula, quadratus lumborum, psoas, muscle of mastication, piriformis and the deep lateral rotators, deep forearm compartments and more.

The path of mastery is a journey of both acquiring new skills and learning to speak more directly to the body’s requests. Learn when, why and how to use your toolbox of techniques.

Take your deeper understanding and skill of technique application immediately from this course to your table. Slow down, sink, soften, isolate, transform.

Prerequisites: This course is open to massage therapists who wish to learn more on the topic.

Low back, sacroiliac joint, hip, knee and foot pain are common areas of client discomfort.  This 16-hour lower body course begins with an in-depth exploration of front and back fascia meridians and the role they play in posture. We will discuss their functional and dysfunctional patterns, practice postural assessment, create treatment plans, and choose and apply fascia focused techniques. Build on the foundation of an isolated view of muscle locations and actions, to a more holistic global view of the fascia body. Notice compensation patterns, fascia connections and restrictions that contribute to pain patterns and loss of function.

The hands-on approach of the course is structured like a group mentoring session. Each therapist will participate as both a client and therapist. The first day we will complete individualized assessments, evaluate client patterns, record results on a body map, create a treatment plan, practice and receive techniques, and evaluate postural post treatment results.

Integrated Natural Health prides itself on offering smaller intimate classes with a learning environment of comfortable collaboration. We are committed to focus on proper body mechanics in all classes. Longevity of a massage therapist’s career is dependent on the efficiency, fluidity and ease of movement around the table and in the execution of massage techniques. Expect an abundance of individualized table-side attention.
