Yinsightful Yoga – Yin, Fascia and the Science of Stretch

50 Hour Virtual Training YACEP

“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak”

YinSightful Yoga integrates the practice of stillness, fascia, the organ of sensation, and the science of stretch offered as a wholistic practice. The eight limbs, koshas and chakras provide an in-depth view of the human body from structural mechanics to subtle energy.

“Silence isn’t empty, it is full of answers” Buddha

Embark upon a challenging practice of stillness and a deep personal inquiry. Yin yoga is the practice of learning to take time to journey through the inner landscape and balance the yangness of life. Yin explores and challenges the edges of restriction and resistance in the mind, body and soul.

On a physical level, yin softens the muscles in long held poses targeting the deepest tissues of the body – fascia, tendons, ligaments, joints, and organs. Yin poses, much like myofascial release, has three phases: discover and challenge the physical edge, embrace stillness and add time to transform the issues in the tissues and create ease and fluidity.

Yin provides the time to notice, observe and honor resistance in the mind, thoughts and emotions. It provides the time to develop a deep and loving relationship with self. Accepting all parts of self, knowing that to deny any one part is the block to wholistic well-being. It is from this wisdom that creating and manifesting a balanced life is possible.

The breath is a window to the mind and emotions. As a relationship with the breath deepens, we begin to see that every emotion has its unique breath pattern. Yin provides the time to observe these subtle changes in the cadence of the breath as poses transition from accessible to challenging and the emotions shift. This yin practice of sitting with and observing discomfort is uniquely challenging and transformational.

“The best gift you can give your body, mind and spirit, is your attention.” Theresa Tobin Macy
