  • What should I wear to the workshop?

  • Since this workshop takes place in winter, dressing in layers is essential. Start with moisture-wicking base layers to keep dry, add insulating layers like fleece or wool, and finish with a waterproof, windproof outer layer to protect from the elements. Warm socks, gloves, and a hat to protect your head from the cold are a must. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots with good traction are important, as the terrain may be slippery due to snow or ice, with exposed tree roots along the path.

  • How far will we walk?

  • We will walk approximately 3 miles, with plenty of pauses for reflection and connection with nature along the way. The walk will be slow and intentional, with time to absorb the winter scenery and breathe in the crisp air. The focus is on mindfulness, not distance.

  • Do I need any prior experience?

  • No prior experience is needed! This workshop is designed for all levels, whether you’re new to mindfulness or a seasoned practitioner.

  • What should I bring with me?

  • Here’s a list of what to bring for the winter conditions:

  • Backpack with a blanket for sitting or resting during mindfulness activities.

  • Water to stay hydrated.

  • A snack or lunch for your enjoyment during breaks.

  • Thermos or insulated cup for tea or coffee (provided, but you may want your own container).

  • Journal and pen for reflecting on your experience with seasonal prompts.

  • Your curiosity and an open heart to connect deeply with the winter environment.

  • Will there be food or drinks provided?

  • Yes! Tea and coffee will be provided during the break. Feel free to bring your own thermos or insulated cup to keep your drink warm. You’re also welcome to bring your own snacks or lunch.

  • What type of terrain should I expect?

  • The terrain is mostly flat, with exposed tree roots along the path. The winter conditions may make the ground slippery, so sturdy footwear with good traction is essential.
