Meet Theresa

Theresa Macy

LMT, C-IAYT, Nature Guide

My journey began with a career shift in 2003, and it transformed not just my profession but my entire perspective on life. It all started in massage school, where the abundant healing touch opened my senses to a world of new possibilities. My path then led me to yoga, where I wholeheartedly embraced the practices of the eight limbs, incorporating well-being as a core aspect of my lifestyle. My profound love for the great outdoors kindled a deep passion for nature bathing, adding a layer to my wellness journey. Throughout both challenging and easier times, these tools have remained steadfast, serving as guiding lights on my spiritual quest.

I’m not simply a wellness advocate; I consider myself an inspirational guide, dedicated to inspiring others to cultivate lives filled with passion, continuous learning, a profound connection to nature, self-awareness, and active movement. Through my coaching, I strive to empower individuals to integrate this energy and knowledge into their daily lives, allowing them to relish in the therapeutic capabilities of their mindset and gain control over their well-being.

As a solopreneur, my business is a true reflection of everything I hold dear and cherish in life. Getting to know me means understanding my deep-rooted connection to nature and my relentless pursuit of balance and mindfulness. You might discover me strolling through the woods with my loyal labradoodle, Seva, or seeking solace leaning against a tree at my cherished "sit spot" by the tranquil pond. On other occasions, you might find me engrossed in my wellness journey, performing a balancing sequence on a sturdy rock beside a babbling brook. I love to walk on the beach, go kayaking on the lake, or embark on adventures in the woods with my grandkids, where I not only share my wisdom but learn curiosity from them, inspiring mindfulness. They infuse my life with even more inspiration from the natural world. When I'm not meandering in nature, you can find me at my desk, gazing out the window, deeply absorbed in the creative process of developing custom wellness plans and workshops. My life and work are entwined, ensuring that I am an authentic, dedicated guide on your path to well-being. My inspiration is enriched by a diverse range of studies, enabling me to connect individuals and body wellness professionals with courses that promote holistic practices including yoga, nature bathing, healing touch, fascial fitness, and more—all set against the backdrop of natural surroundings. My in-depth understanding of the body, its functioning, and its intricate connections to the mind and soul fuels my mission to reshape how you approach lifestyle choices, infusing them with mindfulness, intention, and a newfound sense of agency over your well-being.

In Their Words…

  • Her love for anatomy dripped off her and somehow made its way to me. ~Sherry Sadoff Hanck

When it came time for the Anatomy portion of our Yoga Teacher Training, I arrived much like I did to my high school science classes…unenthused and shut down. It's just never been my "thing." Theresa Macy came in with the exact opposite manner; she was energized and extremely open. Her love for anatomy dripped off her and somehow made its way to me. A smile would form on her lips and I came to know that smile as the precursor to her telling us something really cool about the body. She made anatomy interesting and cool. I found myself becoming more curious about things I previously took for granted but didn't give thought to how or why they worked. Theresa was an asset to my training, my yoga and my overall understanding of the bones I've housed my whole life but never really knew!

  • I walk the golf course almost every morning and those trees have become familiar friends. So thank you Theresa. You gave me a gift. ~Marion Snipes

Hi Theresa, I have thought of you a few times today. I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Because of you, I am much more interested in trees than ever before. Sam and Susan were always champions of trees and I never absorbed their interest. Unfortunately. I could have learned a lot. But you brought it alive for me. You made the information important to me. I walk the golf course almost every morning and those trees have become familiar friends. So thank you Theresa. You gave me a gift.

  • She is a teacher and a valued partner in my practice to keep my body in good shape and maintain agency over my wellness. ~Terri Dautcher

The past several years of working with Theresa have helped me on multiple fronts. Regular sessions have helped me to improve my range of motion and flexibility, which contributes to my overall mobility… something I am committed to maintaining as I age. The specific cranial work she employed resolved a painful jaw issue that I had dealt with for years before she was able to fix the issue. Her willingness to explain my anatomy and physiology as she works, prompted by my questions, has materially increased my understanding of how my joints, muscles, fascia, and points of connection between tissue and bone operate. Theresa has helped me understand so much about how my body operates, and what I can do to proactively care for myself in my day-to-day activities. She is a teacher and a valued partner in my practice to keep my body in good shape and maintain agency over my wellness.
