Gentle Sediments & Sturdy Bedrock
A Spring Equinox Journey in Five Mile Woods
As winter loosens its grip and the first day of spring arrives, the earth stirs awake. The shifting season invites us to step outside, to breathe deeply, and to witness the quiet transformations unfolding all around us. Imagine stepping onto a path where the land itself tells a story of resilience and renewal—a place where soft coastal sediments meet the unshakable strength of bedrock. This is Five Mile Woods, a rare and undisturbed Fall Line ecosystem, where two ancient geologic landscapes converge.
On this first day of spring, I invite you to take your yoga practice off the mat and into the forest for Gentle Sediments & Sturdy Bedrock, a guided Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE) designed to cultivate presence, movement, and connection. Through gentle standing yoga postures, a reflective sit spot practice, and a mindful walk along the wooded trails, we’ll explore the delicate balance between softness and strength—both in nature and within ourselves. This special offering is in collaboration with Flower of Life Yoga Studio, weaving together mindful movement, nature’s wisdom, and the awakening energy of spring.
A Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE)
A Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE)
A MOE is a guided journey into nature designed to awaken the senses, cultivate presence, and foster a deep connection with the natural world. Rooted in mindfulness and somatic awareness, each experience weaves together intentional movement, breathwork, sensory exploration, and moments of stillness to invite a felt sense of belonging in nature.
As we step into spring’s threshold, Gentle Sediments & Sturdy Bedrock will invite us to:
🌿 Move with the Earth – Engage in a nature-immersed practice blending mindful movement, breath, and stillness.
🌿 Walk with Awareness – Meander through a rare, undisturbed Fall Line ecosystem, noticing the interplay of strength and surrender in the land beneath our feet.
🌿 Engage the Senses – Tune into the subtle textures, scents, and sounds of the forest, allowing nature to guide our awareness.
🌿 Pause & Reflect – Settle into a sit spot along the flowing stream, where water carves its path through stone, mirroring our own journeys of adaptation and resilience.
🌿 Share & Integrate – Close our experience in a heart-centered reflection circle, holding space for the wisdom gathered along the way.
